(West Hollywood, CA) – The legendary Palm Restaurant, announced today the upcoming closure of its popular West Hollywood location. Serving its classic steakhouse cuisine and generous “Palm-size” portions since 1975, The Palm in West Hollywood is equally famous for the caricatures of its celebrity customers and the entertainment industry power players that adorn its walls.

“This Palm has been here for almost 40 years, and while we are sad to leave our home on Santa Monica Boulevard, we are excited to be opening a new Palm just a few minutes away in Beverly Hills,” said Bruce Bozzi, Jr., great-grandson of Pio Bozzi, who, with John Ganzi, co-founded The Palm in 1926. “Through four generations, we have followed a simple recipe for success that focuses on making our guests feel that they belong at The Palm. We look forward to continuing that tradition in our new location.”It was Wally Ganzi who envisioned bringing The Palm across the country to Los Angeles in 1974.  The Palm tapped its own Gigi Del Maestro, a native New Yorker, to travel west and he soon became the Maitre’d at the new location, which opened its doors in 1975. Del Maestro greeted his West Hollywood clientele with great warmth and charm, welcoming guests like family to the restaurant.  More than 30 years later, Del Maestro died an untimely death from cancer, but his memory carries on.And, what is the fate of the beloved caricatures on the walls of The Palm? Those depicted will be invited to take home their image, and have the opportunity to preserve a piece of L.A.’s colorful history.imgres-12

The new restaurant, located at 267 North Canon Drive, is on target to open its doors in Beverly Hills, in early November.  The 6,000 square foot restaurant will seat 185, and feature a private dining room.  West Hollywood Palm General Manager Tayna Hodge has been named the General Manager in the new Beverly Hills restaurant.
