The place\u00a0Is small and more of a caf\u00e9 really, which is perfect for the busy lunchtime trade they\u00a0are doing, although the night time is slow for them until the word gets out. I did\u00a0take along for the ride a Jewish friend who had just returned from a tasting trip to\u00a0Tel Aviv, and he confirmed the quality and authenticity of the food here. However\u00a0Repeated questions about whether or not if it was Kosher I think remained largely\u00a0unanswered.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-57.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1088\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-57.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-57\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are six types of Shawarma on the menu to satisfy carnivores and they come in\u00a0large wraps that are all in the $7.99-9.99 range. For an extra $2.50 you can throw in the\u00a0rice, pickled vegetables, souk mix, hummus and pita. They have the chicken which\u00a0is hormone free and marinated in herbs and spices, beef which is sirloin seasoned\u00a0with souk\u2019s dry rub, and lamb which is hormone free halal lamb marinated in\u00a0pomegranate &amp; chile.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-56.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1089\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-56.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-56\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My favorite of course is the Merguez Shawarma, which is a spicy Moroccan sausage\u00a0made from lamb that comes with roasted onions and a variety of sauces. There are\u00a0not a lot of places around town serving Merguez, so the fact that this place has it gives\u00a0it an immediate plus in my book.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-59.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1090\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-59.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-59\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Vegan\u2019s are also catered for here with the Sabih ($6.99), roasted eggplant with a\u00a0Mediterranean salad, hardboiled egg and tahini sauce and zhoug. The vegan shawarma ($8.99)\u00a0is made with non-gmo soy protein, seasoned with herbs and spices and served with\u00a0tahini sauce along with oven blistered tomatoes and a souk mix.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-60.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1091\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-60.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-60\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You might want to try the baby Popcorn Falafels ($4.99) that are topped with fried herbs\u00a0and served with green tahini and a spicy zhoug sauce. Also go for the Souk Fries ($3.99)\u00a0that are prepared with Za Atar and a garlic sauce, or the Dirty Fries ($7.99), French\u00a0fries topped with beef shawarma, feta cheese, harissa and green onions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-55.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1092\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/imgres-55.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-55\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you like Hummus and who doesn\u2019t, it comes in two varieties, regular and avocado.\u00a0Even one better is the Hummus Bowl which is topped with protein saut\u00e9ed garbanzo\u00a0beans, tahini &amp; lemon sauce, olive oil and served with pita bread.<\/p>\n<p>Souk Shawarma shares the space with a French bakery called SUCRE, which is also run\u00a0by a\u00a0family\u00a0member.
