The\u00a0ambience is very conducive for hanging out with friends for a\u00a0casual drink or meal, fairly inexpensive and a staff that seem very\u00a0well trained and organized. The Hudson is a sister restaurant to the more\u00a0upscale Churchill restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Signature dishes include Short Rib Benedict, Hudson Burger and\u00a0The Drunken Sailor. Exposed Edison bulbs, distressed metal, and\u00a0candlelight set the tone for an extended open air patio. Fifty-foot\u00a0trees sprout in the main dining area and booths with dark wood and rich\u00a0burgundy fabric makes this a place that has reminded some people\u00a0of a pre-Prohibition Chicago banker bar. It is also known as a good date\u00a0spot, which is important to know about West Hollywood considering\u00a0the demographics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-17.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1234\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1234\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-17.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-17\" width=\"225\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-17.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-17-150x150.jpeg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All cocktails are priced at $11 and the aforementioned Drunken Sailor uses\u00a0Sailor Jerry\u2019s spiced rum strawberry, mint and lime. Also tried the\u00a0Mezcal penny w\/vida mescal, lemon, agave and Bundaberg ginger beer.\u00a0There is a signature gin drink called \u201cThe Huddy\u201d on the list which comes\u00a0with lime, cucumber and basil, although it was a little too sweet for my taste.\u00a0The wine list is very small, but I did spot a Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc from\u00a0New Zealand at $11 a glass or $42 for the bottle and la marca prosecco\u00a0at $9 a glass and $36 for the bottle.<\/p>\n<p>Getting back to the food, Blas Clemente is the executive chef, although\u00a0I did not meet him the night I was there. A lot of the plates are good\u00a0for sharing, so why not start with the crispy chicken sliders ($12),\u00a0An excellent start followed up with the asparagus and buratta\u00a0Salad served with almonds and in a citrus basil vinaigrette ($12).\u00a0this was an unusual combination since one normally expects heirloom\u00a0tomatoes, but it worked quite well as did the Roasted Brussel Sprouts ($9),\u00a0which are served with bacon, cauliflower, garlic and Dijon.<\/p>\n<p>The Hudson Burger ($13) is a popular item here maybe because all the\u00a0Beef here is organic and ground in house. There are just four main courses\u00a0on offer, and I tried the Pan Roasted Salmon ($20) which is served with\u00a0fingerling potatoes, corn, applewood bacon, asparagus and immersed in\u00a0a smoked corn broth. It was nice and crispy on the outside however, and\u00a0proved to be a good selection.\u00a0It would be amiss of me not to mention the excellent bread pudding\u00a0which was perfect.
