I have also noticed these pies from an outfit called\u00a0Boomerang in my local supermarket freezer section, so maybe<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-17-1.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1256\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1256\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-17-1.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-17\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a long overdue food trend that is slowly catching on. The\u00a0Aussie Pie history dates back to Adelaide in 1870, when the\u00a0famous pie floater was allegedly a sure fire cure for a hangover.\u00a0If you are in Santa Monica and feel a bit the worse for wear on\u00a0a Friday or Saturday night, then no worries because the Aussie\u00a0Pie Kitchen is open till 2.30 am, and \u201cThe Floater\u201d is on the menu.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-18.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1258\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1258\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-18.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-18\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are seven pies on the menu, and they come with a variety\u00a0of sides including mushy peas which are piled on top of the pie, as\u00a0opposed to the English style which prefers to have them separately\u00a0on the plate. The other sides I tried, and they were all good, were the\u00a0yams and the stuffing The chef who creates all this pie magic is Joe\u00a0Youkhan, and like all chefs he has a varied past, but the only solid\u00a0Information I could get was that he spent some time at the excellent\u00a0Ritz-Carlton at Dana Point. He is also a graduate of the cooking show\u00a0\u201cChopped.\u201d All pies are priced between $7.95 and $11.95, with the\u00a0sides being extra at around $4 each.. There are also three sizes, a\u00a03\u201d slider, 5\u201d individual pie and a 9\u201d family version. All pies are baked\u00a0are baked on the premises and are actually three days in creation, and\u00a0all contain croissant dough on top of the pastry<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-15.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1257\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1257\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/imgres-15.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-15\" width=\"263\" height=\"191\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The store is located on Main St in Santa Monica, an excellent spot\u00a0for walk in business, and there is another location that caters\u00a0primarily to the lunchtime trade for aerospace workers in the\u00a0Inglewood\/El Segundo area. A store they started in Hollywood did\u00a0not make it for a variety of reasons, and that is now closed.<\/p>\n<p>The most popular pie is probably the Steak &amp; Shiraz which is marinated\u00a0In red wine, and they also have a Chicken &amp; Tarragon version and a\u00a0non-spicy Madras Curry pie w\/garbanzo beans, onions, carrots, celery,\u00a0garlic and ginger to satisfy the vegan customers.
