The dining room\u00a0Is large, bustling and quite noisy especially when some of the locals are\u00a0on their second bottle of wine. However there is a different vibe at\u00a0lunchtime with the local business crowd , but the night crowd is definitely\u00a0the free spending younger variety.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/daily-candy-the-weekend-guide.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1522\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/daily-candy-the-weekend-guide-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/daily-candy-the-weekend-guide-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/daily-candy-the-weekend-guide.jpeg 380w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So what about the food you might ask! Well the menu is very extensive\u00a0And the chef Nick Shipp moves it around quite a lot. Apart from being\u00a0super trendy the prices are very reasonable and noticeably lower than\u00a0similar menus in Beverly Hills or Hollywood. I started out with the\u00a0daily special of \u2018Smoked Linguica Sausage Cacciatore,\u2019 a beautifully\u00a0executed dish with gnocchi alla romana, saffron, kumquat conserva,\u00a0olive puree and an underwhelming taleggio cheese,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/culinary-sos-upper-wests-roasted-veggie-burger.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1523\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/culinary-sos-upper-wests-roasted-veggie-burger-300x191.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/culinary-sos-upper-wests-roasted-veggie-burger-300x191.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/culinary-sos-upper-wests-roasted-veggie-burger.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not content with that I had to try the very fresh tasting \u2018Octopus\u00a0Carpaccio\u2019 that was very well complemented by the yuzu-sambal\u00a0dressing, fennel, kalamata in a lemon vinaigrette. Seemingly sticking\u00a0to the Italian theme I decided to try the main course of \u2018Miso Glazed\u00a0Duck &amp; Apple Meatballs\u2019 that came in a fairly spicy kombu broth\u00a0infused with ramen, tofu, shimeji and herbs for $23. Pretty interesting\u00a0tasting dish, certainly a first for me which is indicative of what is\u00a0going on in the high energy kitchens of Upper West. My companion went for\u00a0the Prime Flat Iron Steak ($28) which is served here with a Mcdaniel\u00a0smoked bacon &amp; gorgonzola slaw in a bourbon balsamic demi.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/bon-appetit-reviews-our-honey-rye.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1524\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/bon-appetit-reviews-our-honey-rye-300x213.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/bon-appetit-reviews-our-honey-rye-300x213.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/bon-appetit-reviews-our-honey-rye.jpeg 646w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/promotions2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1527\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/promotions2-214x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/promotions2-214x300.jpeg 214w, https:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/promotions2.jpeg 347w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Upper West also prides itself on the creative cocktail menu all\u00a0mostly priced at $11 each. Here are the base spirits that the\u00a0mixologists like to use: Rittenhouse Rye, Platinum Vodka,\u00a0Botanist Gin, Hendricks Gin, Milagro Reposado, Glenfiddich 14,\u00a0Titos Vodka, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Wai Japanese Whiskey, El\u00a0Charo Tequila, Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum and Reyka Vodka.\u00a0They also do Whiskey flights here for $24 with the following\u00a0high profile brands: Bruichladdich, Balvenie from Scotland and\u00a0from America they have Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill and Woodford\u00a0Reserve. However if you fancy trying the MacalLan Single Malt\u00a0with the 12yr Sherry Cask, the 15yr Fine Oak and the 18yr Sherry\u00a0Cask that will set you back $41.\u00a0The wine list is also very impressive and far too lengthy to\u00a0mention here and many of them coming by the glass.
