This year\u2019s culinary delights will take place January 8-14, 2018 <\/strong>and continue to highlight the city\u2019s of Santa Monica’s eclectic dining scene.<\/p>\n

Santa Monica Restaurant Week will help local diners kick off 2018 on a healthy note by utilizing the generous health benefits of this year\u2019s special ingredient \u2013 the pomegranate<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 This will be in conjunction with California Restaurant Month<\/strong>, and to celebrate Santa Monica\u2019s status as a health-conscious culinary destination, more than 30 Santa Monica restaurants <\/strong>will offer specially-crafted dishes<\/strong>, all created to highlight the pomegranate <\/strong>\u2013 a ruby-red fruit that is a rich source of Vitamin C and antioxidants that are known to fight cancer, lower blood pressure and improve heart health. Containing 365 seeds, one for each day of year, the pomegranate was revered as a symbol of love for the ancient Greeks and continues this tradition for many international cultures today.<\/p>\n

The pomegranate is just one of the many local produce items in season during the winter months and can be found at any of Santa Monica\u2019s four weekly farmers markets.
