Santa Monica (Perfect Meal Today) 9\/15\/19–The Backyard at Chez Jay,\u00a0<\/b>located in the heart of Santa Monica on Ocean Avenue, Grand opening of the backyard patio August 14, 2019, after 60 years as landmark restaurant.\u00a0Chez Jay i<\/b>s\u00a0owned by Michael Anderson<\/b>\u00a0and now operated by his son\u00a0General Manager Chris Anderson<\/b>. Shortly after\u00a0Chez Jay<\/b>\u00a0was named a Historical Landmark in 2012,\u00a0The Backyard\u00a0<\/b>began as a vision that\u00a0Michael Anderson\u00a0<\/b>had where he wanted to create a special experience for his longtime following of extremely loyal clientele so they could enjoy outdoor dining right by the Santa Monica ocean under the stars.\u00a0

Media were invited to relax and enjoy The Backyard and sample some of their popular dishes.\u00a0Shrimp Ceviche, tasty and light flavorful. Kimchi guacamole a twist of the original with tangy Kimichi, and hand muddled cucumber margaritas to order made to perfection. Dessert was\u00a0inspired by\u00a0Chez Jay Chef Juan De Arcos is known<\/b>\u00a0as\u00a0\u201cChef Tony,\u201d<\/b>\u00a0is Chef Memo\u2019s\u00a0Fried Oreos\u00a0<\/i><\/b>\u00a0– the ultimate comfort food menu.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Backyard<\/b>\u00a0was designed by\u00a0Chris Anderson\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0Nataly Lopez<\/b>\u00a0with the concept to create a comfortable and welcoming gathering space for family, friends and longtime guests of\u00a0Chez Jay.<\/b>\u00a0The space features picnic tables, couches, Adirondack chairs, fire pit, wine barrels, hanging vintage lanterns and string lights, large off-white canopy, and bright blue fence that backs up to Santa Monica\u2019s\u00a0Tongva Park<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chef Guillermo De Arcos G,\u00a0<\/b>known as\u00a0\u201cChef Memo,\u201d\u00a0<\/b>is the special secret ingredient at\u00a0The Backyard at Chez Jay.\u00a0<\/b>Having been in the kitchen at\u00a0Chez Jay\u00a0<\/b>for over 27 years, he now has his son\u00a0Guillermo De Arcos Jr.\u00a0<\/b>cooking by his side, making this a true family affair as he introduces the new\u00a0Good Eats<\/b>\u00a0menu at\u00a0The Backyard at Chez Jay<\/b>.
