It is a beautiful light and airy space, almost all white and silver in concept\u00a0and it overlooks the Bellagio Lake and Fountains, a major tourist attraction in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/imgres-2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-714\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/imgres-2.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-2\" width=\"274\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The architecture is based on early 20<sup>th<\/sup> century Italian futurism which includes a stunning\u00a0outside patio area. The entrance boasts a 1500 square foot mosaic of Milan. The dining\u00a0room was designed by Munge Leung and features massive arched windows which\u00a0helps to maximize views of the fountains.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-716\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/2.jpeg\" alt=\";-2\" width=\"106\" height=\"70\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Serrano, a native of Spain, earned his stars at Picasso also at the Bellagio, along with 14\u00a0AAA Five Diamond awards as well as the Grand Award from Wine Spectator. Squadrons\u00a0of smartly dressed waiters buzz around constantly, and if they are all like our Milanese\u00a0server Giuseppe, then this place will quickly gain a reputation as an outstanding\u00a0restaurant. There is an extensive wine selection, but I was told in no uncertain terms\u00a0that the cocktail program here is something special and the focus of this article at\u00a0least will be on that. I look forward to a return visit, focusing just on the wines.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-717\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/1.jpeg\" alt=\";-1\" width=\"106\" height=\"70\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A somewhat random sampling of these small plates results simply in some must try dishes\u00a0starting with the scallops in olive oil and the\u00a0crusting\u00a0and smoked spicy sausage with a\u00a0heavy emphasis on the gorgonzola. Another standout is the Risotto in a red wine w\/burrata\u00a0cheese that was possibly my favorite dish of the night. Regrettably I did not get the chance\u00a0to try the Calamarata-tiny calamari pasta rings from Gragnano in Naples that are styled\u00a0with squid sauce.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-718\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/jpeg\" alt=\";\" width=\"106\" height=\"70\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Three months in the planning under Venezuelan mixologist Ricardo Murcia, the program is\u00a0comprehensive with an example being six different styles of ice, and even five different types\u00a0of straws. All the cocktails have a food element such as the Caramel Nest w\/Golden\u00a0Raspberries as an example with Toschi Fragoli Wild Strawberry Liqueur, Prosecco, raspberry\u00a0syrup and lemon juice. Just one more example would be the Edible Cocktail Sphere called\u00a0Sgroppino, a frozen sphere of delights like Prosecco, limoncello, lemon sorbet and cocoa butter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/3.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-719\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/3.jpeg\" alt=\";-3\" width=\"106\" height=\"70\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was quite a lengthy evening and I do vaguely remember the dessert cocktail called Tiramisu,\u00a0a tempting concoction of St.George NOLA Coffee Liqueur, Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur,\u00a0Tiramisu Liqueur, Marscapone Cheese, vanilla ice cream and cold espresso topped with\u00a0Chocolate Curls and all topped with an Italian Chocolate Cookie.<\/p>\n<p>The Bellagio Director of Wine is Jason Smith and he has sourced some of the smaller Italian\u00a0producers to come up with a wine list of about 750 bottles which include sought after labels\u00a0like Sassicaia and Gava.<\/p>\n<p>There are also large plates to choose from if the smaller version is not your thing, with standouts\u00a0that include the rather adventurous Piedmontese Beef w\/gorgonzola cheese or the Bistecca\u00a0one-pound ribeye trimmed w\/sea salt.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/imgres-3.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-715\" src=\"http:\/\/perfectmealtoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/imgres-3.jpeg\" alt=\"imgres-3\" width=\"103\" height=\"60\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tour the bolder side of Italy with innovative small plates at Lago by Julian Serrano.<\/p>\n<p>James Beard Award-winning chef Julian Serrano sets the evening in motion with his stunning interpretation of Italian, each packed with distinct and unmatched flavors.
