A unique gastronomic experience in the heart of London inspired by the DC Universe
London, UK (July 2, 2021) Park Row, the first fully immersive DC-inspired gastronomic restaurant experience found anywhere in the world, will open in Soho August 10th on Brewer Street, featuring five premium restaurants and bars spaces, storytelling and world-class food and drink that draws inspiration from some of Gotham City’s most famous (and infamous) residents.
Reservations are now live for London’s most anticipated opening of the year Park Row, which includes The Monarch Theatre, a unique, immersive multi-sensorial gastronomic experience secreted within the depths of a stunning Grade II listed restaurant on Brewer Street, Soho.
The Monarch Theatre, a 20-seat venue will host an eleven-course tasting menu with drinks for £195 per person subtly paying homage to some of DC’s most iconic Super Heroes and Super-villains. Dishes take guests on a culinary and visual journey with the help of floor-to-ceiling screens and 360-degree projection mapping. Truly a one-of-a-kind gastronomic show, with carefully crafted staging and immersive courses that play with the senses – Gotham City, nor London for that matter has ever seen anything quite like it. The experience is abundantly rich in storytelling, of characters good, evil and the blurred lines in between.
Created by Park Row founder James Bulmer, The Monarch Theatre experience is designed to trigger specific emotions through the environment of the room and the food on the table which tie into the theatrical narrative of the evening. Highlights will include a ‘poisonous’ mushroom made from a rich and earthy parfait; a decadent scallop, oyster, caviar and white chocolate dish topped with gold leaf; a USDA Black Angus tenderloin with truffle fit for Bruce Wayne’s dinner table; and edible jewelry.
In DC lore the Monarch Theatre was once at the heart of entertainment for Gothamites until it shuttered its doors following the tragic deaths of Dr. Thomas and Martha Wayne in the alley adjacent to the iconic movie house over 20 years ago. As an homage to its history, The Monarch is now the crown jewel of Park Row, elevating dining and entertainment with an exhilarating restaurant experience unlike no other.
Officially opening its doors on 10th August, The Monarch Theatre will take reservations Tuesday to Saturday, with three sittings per day: lunch, and then 5.30pm and 9pm for dinner. Park Row will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Bookings are now open and can be accessed via the website parkrowlondon.co.uk.
The Monarch forms just one of many restaurants located within Park Row, the first DC-inspired gastronomic restaurant experience found anywhere in the world. With a focus on first-class dining and storytelling, it will be home to five restaurant and bar spaces, each taking the guest on a journey from the streets of London to the depths of Gotham City’s underworld. Drawing inspiration from some of Gotham City’s most famous (and infamous) residents, including The Penguin, Harley Quinn, The Joker, Catwoman and more, each space will have its own signature style, providing a whole host of options for guests, from cocktails and afternoon teas, through to dining and live music. After descending into the Batcave through a specially designed emotion-triggering ‘mist’, guests emerge in the relaxed and elegant Pennyworth’s, named after Bruce Wayne/Batman’s butler, Alfred. Alongside Pennyworth’s you’ll find The Penguin’s opulent Iceberg Lounge, a large, stylish restaurant and bar with live entertainment throughout the week. Step into the Rogue’s Gallery, the domain of curator Selina Kyle/Catwoman, where you can dine alongside reproductions of some of the world’s most famous stolen art pieces, each bearing a villainous mark. A modern European menu is available throughout (average spend £55 per person), with a signature drinks list for each space. Whilst hidden away from the buzz of the main room lies Old Gotham City, a secluded speakeasy featuring clever cocktails and bar snacks.
